Community Transformation Update South Cobb High School Is a Success! We congratulate the students and staff @ South Cobb High School for passing AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) and being removed from the “needs improvement” list. The students at South Cobb are performing at the highest levels in the history of the school! For the past two years, OHBC has invested in the success of SCHS students on the High School Graduation Test by being the host site for preparatory tutoring sessions (an important part of meeting AYP). We also provided drinks and snacks. SCHS principal, Dr. Grant Rivera, wrote a very nice letter to our congregation recently. To read his words of encouragement to us, visit the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.
Kids Kingdom Ministry Once again, our Kids Kingdom Ministry was a great success! We want to thank all of you who helped in any way. Thank you to our committee, volunteers and sellers! It takes many helping hands working together to make this ministry what it is. Thank you!
Are the Apostolic Fathers the Dads of the original disciples? And just who were the Apologists, and what were they so sorry for anyway? Isn't St. Augustine just a city in Florida? What's a Diet of Worms? And was the Battle of Tours one of those advertising wars between competing travel agents? What is all this stuff, and why is it important? Is the monkey-version of history right? Is it just all dates and dead people? Or is history something radically different than we've perhaps ever thought? Come join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm for a wild and wonderful study of church history from the first century until now, and find out!
